We’re gonna win this one, I can feel it

November 6th, 2009 | by mike577 |

For the last three weeks, I’ve had a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when it comes to the Giants.  Like I knew they were destined to lose all three games to New Orleans, Arizona and Philly.  I hate when that gut feeling is correct, but it usually is.  Just like the feeling I have this week that we’re gonna pull out of it against San Diego at home.

I’m not sure why I feel confident.  I mean, Philip Rivers has the ability to pick apart our weak secondary.  But maybe the pass rush wakes up and gets to him, or the Giants find a way to force a few turnovers for a change.  I also feel like the running game will emerge a bit more this week and the offense won’t have to rely on Eli Manning to win the game.

One thing that really has to change, however, is the special teams play.  We can’t cover kicks OR run them back with any authority, and that needs to change Sunday to win the battle of field position, especially against an offense as explosive as San Diego’s.

What are your thoughts?  Optimistic?  Cautiously optimistic?  Pessimistic?
